In Berlin, muzzles are mandatory for "list dogs" (Pit Bull Terriers, American Staffordshire Terriers, Bull Terriers) as well as dogs individually classified as dangerous, starting from seven months of age. Brandenburg abolished breed-specific legislation on July 1, 2024 – there, dangerousness is now only assessed on an individual basis. However, in public transport in both states, muzzles are mandatory for all dogs.

Yes. In all BVG public transport (bus, subway, tram) and in the S-Bahn, a general muzzle requirement applies to all dogs – regardless of breed or size. Only dogs in closed transport boxes and guide dogs are exempt.
